Delivering Over $640 Million in Federal Investments for Richmond

As your Member of Parliament for Steveston–Richmond East since 2021, I have  led with a centrist, results-driven approach focused on improving life for every Richmond resident. My work in Ottawa during the 44th Parliament secured over $640 million in federal investments, driving generational job growth, modern infrastructure, and community services across the city.

Local Results That Matter

Through collaboration across all levels of government, I have championed funding for projects that directly benefit Richmond families, workers, and seniors, including:

  • $46 million for housing, unlocking faster permits, affordable builds, and supportive housing for women and children

  • Strategic economic investments in aerospace, innovation, clean tech, and food production

  • Infrastructure upgrades from flood protection to clean water systems

  • 2,300+ new local jobs created by mid-2024

  • Support for community well-being, including active living spaces, senior services, and mental health programs

A Champion for Cost of Living Relief

I also backed national affordability measures that directly help Richmond residents:

  • $10-a-day childcare

  • Increased Old Age Security for seniors 75+

  • Canada Child Benefit (avg. $6,000/family)

  • Dental care, pharmacare, and a national school food program

  • Student loan interest elimination

  • Lower credit card and banking fees

A Steady Voice for the Future

With a proven track record in delivering for Richmond, I continue to advocate for:

  • Personal income tax cuts for working Canadians

  • Reducing red tape and cracking down on anti-competitive pricing

  • Cutting government waste while protecting services

  • Strengthening Canada’s trade relationships and internal economy

As Canada enters a new chapter of leadership under Prime Minister Mark Carney, I remain a steady, pragmatic voice for the future—focused on economic growth, affordability, and a better quality of life for all.

Building Generational Strength for Richmond

Play Video

I spent most of my childhood on the soccer pitch at South Arm Park – where I coach more than I play these days.

Professionally, I served as a Public Relations Officer with the BC Government, and I spent over 14 years working on public policy issues. I gained extensive knowledge and developed my skills in fostering relationships between all levels of government and community.

Over the years, I became really determined to search for ideas and work towards finding solutions to build a community we can all enjoy living in.

What I want to focus on is making sure the next generation can live in a healthy community environment like I did growing up. Better is always possible. I am Parm Bains, and I am your local voice for Richmond East – Steveston. Sincerely, Parm Bains
